Sherlock Holmes Trail - 2nd August


 Use your powers of observation and deduction at these Sherlock Holmes inspired detective walking trails in Tetbury and discover some of the town’s hidden secrets.  

All ages welcome, price just £3.50 adults, £2.50 children. Unaccompanied children age 10+ please.


10.00 am and 2.00 pm                             

No booking necessary, just turn up ten minutes before the start time at the Tetbury Police Museum & Courtroom, The Old Courthouse, 63 Long Street, Tetbury, GL8 8TJ  

 

Gatcombe Horse Trials - 4th August - 6th August

The Open Horse Trials are held on a very attractive if hilly course for the spectator with plenty of areas where you can see many jumps from one place. Plenty of arena events trade stands and food outlets. More details www.gatcombe-horse.co.uk 

 

Ninebarrow @ Tetbury Goods Shed - 4th August

Multi-award-winning folk duo Ninebarrow combine breathtaking vocal harmonies and melodies, delivering original songs that are inspired and rooted in the landscape and history of the British Isles.

Charity Golf Day At Westonbirt Golf Course - 5th August

In Aid of Tetbury Hospital.

 Bacon rolls and hot drinks will be on hand along with other refreshments and a cup for the eventual winner.

Anyone wishing to enter should download an entry form from www.westonbirtleisure.com or get an entry form from the Westonbirt Golf Club club-house.

 Golfers keen to take part should get their entries in as soon as possible!

 

Westonbirt House and Garden Opening - 6th August

Westonbirt House and Gardens are the creation of members of the Holford family most notably that of 19C Robert Holford who also created Westonbirt Arboretum (now part of Forestry Commission). The House and Garden are open from 11am - 5pm, guided house tours on the hour (last tour at 4pm) no booking required but please report to Reception at Westonbirt House. Sculptors Will Whitmore and Patrick Way are offering a three day workshop with a fun and practical approach to stone carving. Christchurch, Tetbury - Walk the Labyrinth - 15th August - 18th August

A Labyrinth is a winding path that leads to the centre then back again. To walk a Labyrinth is to do a short spiritual pilgrimage, to contemplate one's life journey and to rediscover that every step of the way God is walking with us. The Labyrinth will be in Christchurch:-

Thurs 17th  4pm - 9pm

Fri 18th 10am - 4pm

Hawkesbury Upton Show - 26th August

Hawkesbury 8 miles from Tetbury are holding their traditional village horticultural show and fair. Large produce marquee holding fruit, veg, crafts and more. Fairground rides, Punch and Judy, tractor pull, food and drink available. Gates open 12.30pm, crowning of carnival queen on The Plain at 1.30pm followed by procession.
